Disclaimer: What I’m about to post is totally unrelated to teaching, but SO worth a look. Today was my son’s 5th birthday. Cannot believe that! Before you look at these pictures, you have to know that I am so not this mom (the mom that always has over the top DIY parties). I wish I was, but instead I just step into these shoes once in a while. First of all, this is the first kid party we’ve ever had. It was going to be a little get together with a few of our close friends. It was still just a few close friends but with more than a few superhero activities and decorations. Oh my goodness, Pinetrest! That is all I have to say. Well, not really but I could stop there. I got a little lot Pin-spired. I. got. into. it. It all started Friday night (as in two nights ago). I made these party bags and banner. Then it sort of snowballed. When I commit, I commit! I almost feel silly about how much I did for this party. Ha!
Gift bag Pinterest source: You can buy these bags on etsy. If I wasn’t such a procrastinator, I would have bought them from the person who created this idea!
And I couldn’t help myself with these. I made one for my two sons with this cute superhero clip art, then I just had to make one for all the kids (there were only 8 of them so it wasn’t too crazy).
One of the favorite activities was a little scavenger hunt for the pinata. We had the kids going all over the house with this one! I forgot how much kids love a pinata. This pinata was one of those where every kid gets to pull a string instead of hitting it. Much more little kid friendly!
We got crafty with some cape making too! Remember puff paint? Are you a child of the 80s and 90s? I was all about the puff paint. So fun!
Thanks for humoring me! I had so much fun planning this party, I had to show you all!
