Hello everyone! Yes, I’m still here. 🙂 I know it has been a couple/few weeks since I posted, but I have been BUSY! You all can relate, I’m sure. I start school on Tuesday and last week was my teacher prep week filled with meetings, meetings, and more meetings. As some of you may know, I have a new position this year. I am beyond excited about it! I will be teaching reading for kinder-3rd grade. Dream. Come. True. It is the most ideal situation for me. I get to focus on my favorite subject and my passion: teaching kids to read. I get my own classroom. Yes, take a breath. It’s true. A classroom!! I get to work part time so I can have a little more time with my little angel/terror/most hilarious child alive, Owen. (Shawn will be in pre-k full time). I am so lucky! I will definitely miss a lot about teaching first. But, for me and my family, this is perfect for right now. I will still be working closely with the first grade teacher at my school, so I will have plenty of first grade posts still. 🙂 I also have a list of things that I started last year that I need to finish and post for you all. Hopefully having a little extra time will help with that.
Anyway… moving right along. I moved into a new classroom this year. I’m *mostly* finished. There are still a few bits and pieces I want to add, but it is student-ready.

I am loving my little quote posters that I made. I had that little space above this bulletin board. Wasn’t sure what to put there, so I made these inspirational quotes.

We have “student Learning Expectations” at my school. By graduation (in 8th grade), we want our students to have met these. I made visual posters this year for the first time. The expectation is that our students are familiar with these. Hopefully these visuals will help! I just love how they turned out!
That’s my new room my friends. I will be back soon with a bunch of goodies that I’ve been working on. I’m finishing my math rubrics FINALLY! I’m also working on my reading teacher binder. I’m so excited to take you on my new adventure as a reading teacher!
