St. Patrick’s Day Common Core Activities (with 2 Freebies)
Hooray! I have internet again. That was rough. I feel so out of the loop now. I have so much to catch up on. We are getting settled in our new house and loving it!
Is anyone else LOVING the Peek at My Week linky from Deedee. There are so many fabulous visual plans out there. I absolutely love those. Ideally I would make those every week, but… not enough time in the day. I hope to get better about showing you pictures of my students actually doing the units I make and buy. We definitely keep busy in my classroom, that’s for sure. It would nice to get my act together and show you a peek at my weeks. 🙂
This is what I’ll be doing this week and part of next week:
This is actually an upgrade from last year’s minipack (although now it’s not mini anymore). This year my students have really benefited from these kinds of activities. I wanted to update this St. Patrick’s Day pack to be more like the other packs I’ve made, since they have really helped my kiddos.
This leprechaun hunt was part of the original pack. This is one of my favorite activities from the past several years of teaching first grade. First graders love leprechauns! This includes 6 clues as well as a student sheet.
And the usual activities:
(My students can’t get enough of these. They are getting so good too!)
I really try to make quality reading passages to make those kids really think! I love giving them opportunities for higher order thinking. 🙂
writing activities with rubrics. Each of these have different formats, depending on ability level.
These prompts (without the rubrics and varying formats) are also part of the original pack.
Some grammar and sentence writing
And from the original pack: Where’s My Gold (making inferences)
You can find this here:
There are two versions (remember how much I like to confuse you all). One is just what is shown above. 80 pages of common core, ready to go activities. It looks like this:
The other has everything shown above PLUS 5 literacy centers from my March literacy menu that are St. Patrick’s Day themed. It looks like this:
Make sure to read each product description so you get the one you want. 🙂
And now for the freebie. I am so appreciative of my followers. I enjoy blogging so much and it’s nice to have people out there who give a hoot. 🙂 Hope you can use this freebie!
